About contact

Contact is a research group funded by a grant of excellence from the Lundbeck-Foundation, given to Prof. Hartwig Siebner for the period of 2011-2015. It is divided into six workpackages which use different methods and tackle different aspects of the CONTrol of ACTion.

Contact will investigate the ability of the human brain to flexibly integrate relevant contextual dimensions into appropriate actions. A better understanding of the neural mechanisms mediating such a flexible control of actions is of central relevance to neuroscience.

Neuroimage 20th anniversary special

The renowned journal NeuroImage will publish a Special Issue, entitled "Neuroimaging: Then, Now and The Future" in June.

Hartwig R. Siebner and James Rowe (Cambridge) had the honour to contribute one of the articles dealing with neuroimaging of motor control. The article is entitled "The motor system and its disorders" and covers following topics:

► Establishing organisational principles of the motor system.


► Motor learning, inhibition, mirror neuron systems and action selection.


► Understanding human movement disorders, stroke and plasticity.


► Innovations in integrated multimodal imaging and new brain-behaviour models.
